In 1989 George H.W. Bush was president, Salvador Dali died, the Berlin Wall came down, the World Wide Web was born, the Cold War was declared over, Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” was featured on a Pepsi commercial, and two guys named Charlie King and Brad Lawton started an advertising agency in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The partners offered both creative services and strategy to their clients. Then, they met Carol Fricke, owner of a media company called Media Pro. It wasn’t long before they realized this collaboration was what their clients needed, so the duo became a trio and established Lawton King Fricke.
These three partners created an agency that delivered solutions for their clients rooted in strategy, creative services, and the technology of the time.
I met Carol Fricke in 1989 through my first job as an Ad Specialist for the Battle Creek Enquirer. Our relationship began through media (she bought it, I sold it) and a love for all things marketing.
Who knew that someday I would work at LKF and eventually become its CEO?
Today, just like in the beginning, LKF provides intelligent marketing solutions rooted in strategy, creativity, and technology. Our tools look different today, but our foundation still drives the outcomes. As a result, we’re always looking to find new ways to solve our clients’ challenges.
In this digital era where social, web, video, and photography collide, we are listening and growing. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our team… Amelia AirHart!
