Branding a local treasure is a challenge and an honor.
As the Gull Lake Dam Association’s (GLDA) agency of record, LKF Marketing knew that the first step in generating residents’ and community member support for the dam’s repair would be designing a logo for the organization. Understanding that Gull Lake is known for its natural beauty and serves as a community-wide destination for lakeside living and recreation, LKF began developing brand identity for the GLDA that captured the simplistic elegance of the lake.
With dark blue and teal as its primary colors, the GLDA’s logo draws parallels to water and the lake life that the nonprofit preserves. A sailboat, seagull, and date of the organization’s formation are also included to reference the organization’s culture, namesake, and history.
The tagline of, “Love Your Lake. Build The Dam,” was also created to accompany this logo and generate community support regarding the Gull Lake Dam’s repair.
In addition to the organization’s website, the GLDA logo is also featured on yard signs and collateral materials to effectively communicate the shared spirit and culture of Gull Lake’s community.
