Wenke Greenhouse (Wenke) is a third-generation family business that dates back to1942. Presently, there are four locations in Kalamazoo in addition to one location in Douglas, Ga., totaling 56 acres of covered production and six acres of field production.
As one of the nation’s largest producers of bedding plants, Wenke serves family-owned businesses with year-round production. They focus their efforts on supporting garden centers, landscapers, and re-wholesalers with quality plants in addition to operating a garden retail center in Kalamazoo.
The business is comprised of three different business components; Wenke Greenhouse (retail) which is the smallest division at 10 percent, young plants that are sold to other growers at 15 percent, and the remaining 75 percent is the finished wholesale division. The Michigan location has a territory that travels as far south as Chattanooga, Tenn., as far west as Kansas City, Mo., and as far east as Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to partnering with LKF, Wenke worked with a marketing firm out of Connecticut to assist in the development of various marketing materials. When the Wenke sales team wanted to partner with a local firm they turned to LKF. We're helping focus on growing new business within their current customer base, redesigning the trade show booth and materials, and eventually a website overhaul.
